I'm in Houston, Tex., and would enjoy working to make employment a right. Only through making employment a right can we hope to address all these issues. A person is either an asset or liability, if one is gainfully employed they are an asset, yet if one is unemployed they become a liability. There is so much that needs to be done in this country as well as over the rest of the planet. There also needs to be a maximum wage that is in relation to the minimum wage, I believe a 100 times more is fair. There needs to be a new revolution respecting all human labor, and that sees everyone having value. I have a post at CNN under iReports, joetoker420, that explains how to achieve this goal.

I agree with you all the way. Unfortunately it takes catastrophe to get us to do the "right" thing and hopefully more and more people are seeing now that if we don't hang together, well you know. This country, because we are forced into competing against each other doesn't allow for social solidarity.

Can't wait for October 2nd. I think that congress will finally see how many people are effected by their collective decisions. Clearly, they have their head in the sand when it comes to the economic crisis we are in today. In fact, most of them think the recession was over last year and don't understand there are more than 26 million disenfranchised workers in America today. Actual unemployment rate is over 17%, with 1 job for more than 8 job seekers.
I live in Baytown, TX and would like to go to Washington.

I suppose we could start by having a couple meetings with everyone interested in going to Washington for the protest on the steps of the Capitol Building. I know there are over 100,000 unemployed in the State of Texas, so there should be plenty of folks interested. The only issue is how to get there in the most cost effective way. I was thinking either Greyhound or trying to find a cheap airline ticket. Of course, this will take some thought, depending how many folks are planning to go.

- Bus $184 RT plus tax
- Plane $225 RT plus tax
- Train $350 RT plus tax
The best way is if someone had an SUV or minivan and split the gas.

why not have texas demonstration here in austin at the capitol on same day and same time doing it as a texas chapter of that group, call media to get coverage when plans are firm check out millions unemployed marc ,on face book listed in groups,everyone can get togeather on that site and start planning for a march on capitol, lot closer than washington, a lot of people could car pool from area's in texas. are start their own unified marc.

Sure, why not Austin. It would be much more convenient than Washington. Any media attention would be focused on Washington, however, there may be local news coverage of Austin. Do you know of anyone planning a March on the Texas state capitol? Of course, Texas law enforcement may not be as forgiving as the folks in DC, who see this stuff all the time!!
